This artwork is inspired by the Aurora Australis, or Southern Lights visible from the south of Tasmania. The colours of the lights depend on the chemicals in the atmosphere when hit by electrons from the solar system. Oxygen gives off green/yellow colours while nitrogen sometimes causes pink. The shadow outline of the landscape is visible beneath the spray of colours creating negative space but it is the sky above, an often-overlooked landscape, that draws attention. It is a moving, ever-changing, temporal landscape, with an existence dependant on a confluence of events and natural phenomena.

I explore the world through collage and cartography, overlapping sections of landscape – the sky, the desert, the water- to create new imagined worlds. The places themselves are familiar in that we understand the cartographic elements within, but they are places that are impossible to traverse.

While creating this work I was reading a few medical papers on neuroscience and synapses, and how neural connections and pathways and are formed during memory recall. There was also something about enzymes and electrical discharges. I'm probably not even explaining this correctly. I think this is my visual interpretation of the brain as computer.

This artwork is inspired by unrecorded journeys across uncharted territory. I overlap land, water and sky using cartographic elements to create a world that is familiar and imagined.

These artworks explore earth and mountain formations through the medium of woodblock printing. Impressions are taken from inked-plywood onto rice paper in overlapping layers of whites, greys, and blacks. I made this artwork with friends in mind who are queer but not openly out. Inspired by the rainbow flag, I've altered the ratio and substituted the purple stripe with pink so you could potentially argue it's a landscape, not a flag. I want it to be a secret celebration of people's personalities, something anyone could display until they felt comfortable about who they are and their identity.

A series of works as part of a group show at Red Gallery, inspired by the exhibition title The map's vocabulary. Other artists include Kate Gorringe-Smith, Helen Kocis Edwards, Mon Keel, Roz Rogers et al.

Our most recent project, "Quite Contrary", reinterprets nursery rhymes by abbreviating them from a parent's perspective. This relied on general knowledge of children's stories and nursery rhymes, something many of us are familiar with. As children we accept the stories as fun tales told before bed or songs we sing with friends and enjoy hearing them repeatedly. As adults passing down these stories, we begin questioning the appropriateness for children and become weary of constant recitation. "Quite Contrary" stemmed from the parental desire to shorten the "bedtime routine" and to reinterpret these tales to break the monotony of storytelling using humour and sarcasm. The illustrations of these reinterpretations are designed for children with the writing made for adults offering something enjoyable for all ages. It was exhibited at Bargoonga Nganjin North Fitzroy Library in 2021.

1000 Tears was an interdisciplinary project engaging members of the public via writing, social media, video animation, and printmaking, blurring the boundaries between maker and viewer. Individuals were invited to share a regret, the writing of which formed the basis of a visual art installation. The shared responses were aimed at bringing individual experiences together to create a sense of community through shared grieving.
