1000 Tears, with Helen Kocis-Edwards and Rebecca Young
"Make the most of your regrets; never smother your sorrow, but tend and cherish it 'til it comes to have a separate and integral interest. To regret deeply is to live afresh." - Henry David Thoreau
1000 Tears is an interdisciplinary project engaging members of the public via writing, social media, video animation, and printmaking to blur the boundaries between maker and viewer. Individuals are invited to share a regret, the writing of which will form the basis of a visual art installation imitation a flow or a larger body of water. The sharing of responses aims to bring individual experiences together, creating a sense of community to consider the meaning of regret. were invited to anonymously submit a regret via postcards, courtesy of Avant Card.
